Hoosiers 26.1 X 9" on 15s

I mounted the tires on a set of MB brand 15" wheels with a 38mm offset on my 2009 HHR SS, since these tires were the same size over-all as my M/T DRs that I had run many pass on I didn't check for clearance, well on the return road after my second pass the right tire with tube blew, seem there's a bracket mounted to the strut for an attaching point for the sway bar on the passenger side, this bracket had a edge that cut through the tire, moral to the story remove the edge with a file & add 1/8" wheel spacers, 260.00 mistake lots more if it had happened 20 seconds earlier.

With an automatic, no.
With a stick shift, it's a very rare occurrence.
Over on the CobaltSS forums, I only know of one failure, not counting,
a failure , by ZZP, which was probably a high HP drag car.

Hey guys. I would stay away from the Mickey Thompson et STREETS. I had a pair crack and split at the transition between side wall to tread. Mickey Thompson did nothing about it. And told me not to use them on a FWD car. Please do not waste your money on the 245-24-18 ET street.

Slicks are really the only way to hook, with 'wrong-wheel-drive'.

DR's are always a 'hit-or-miss', at the track, you have to 'fight'
them, on every run.

Slicks will spin off the line too, if you have the wrong pressure in them,
or if your 'burnout', is weak, or improper.

A small diameter slick works best for us.

M&H 23.5" or 24.5" are awesome...

A question for you guys who are running slicks. Are you running tubes in them? I've been reading about the pros and cons of running with/without them. I'm just looking for some opinions about if you guys think I'd be asking for trouble by running mine without tubes.
