I'm curious I'm looking to purchase the exact same wheels as the original poster and I went to American's website and plugged in all the needed info to determine compatibility. Now, according to them they won't fit my 2006 LT but will fit a 2011. Huh? The current wheels' owner said they fit his 2011 with no mods or spacers, etc. and is running stock 16x7 tires. Did something change between '06 and '11 wheels or is their website buggy?

No changes I'm aware of the 06 and the 11, show the same bolt pattern and 42 mm offset

I appreciate the feedback Oldblue. Thanks.
I'm going to reach out to see if anyone here has actually mounted a set of these on a 2006 or so HHR and have there been any issues? I'm about to pull the trigger on getting a set of these and I don't want to make a costly mistake. All seems in order but the fact that American Racings's website says it's a "no go" makes me nervous. The best I can figure is that these became available after 2006 and they didn't take them into consideration retroactively.

Why not just get in touch with their tech department directly ? I'm sure they can answer any fitment questions.

Fwiw. There are no suspension changes between 06-11 years that would make them not work. If they'll fit 1 year, they should fit all.

im the original poster of this, if I remember correctly American racing told me no also, the site I bought them from ran the numbers and told me it would work and it does, put over 50,000 miles on with no problems. as long as there are no differences between the years your good to go

There ya go! That quells my fears and I shall proceed! Thanks guys! It's just a bit unnerving when the manufacturer gives you the thumbs down.

Nothing to fear but fear itself!! and a manufacturer who won't do some research to settle your mind , and make a sale!
How many times have we been asked " this fits 2006 to 2010 , but will it fit my 2011?"

So just ot be clear, the general consensus was that these particular wheels, fitted to an LT, would hit the calipers?
