I don't think you need the kit, just get the filter. you will not be able to bolt the stock lid down without crushing the filter though. Send me a pm I can cut you a 1/2" thick gasket that will lift the lid but not get any engine compartment air. or just lift or remove the lid like a bunch of us have.... sounds better thats for sure. Although I haven't heard my turbo since I went with straight pipes

 

Does the out actually give a noticeable difference? Lol in other words is it really worth the 250$ or just the 50$ filter best bang for the buck? Im really thinking of doing a reverse cow scoop n keeping lid. Would the cow scoop give any perks as it might help pull the hot air from the turbo... maybe? Lol

 

Just get the filter. the kit just gives you a taller lid, and a slightly different pipe. Not worth it. IMO

 

 

The turbo sits way back almost to the firewall. If there were a way to funnel air there, you May be able to do a scoop or tube under the car. But so you know what your dealing with, run the car hard at night then open the hood, the piping should be cherry hot around the Dp and turbo.

K. Got the filter orderd. shoulda been here yesterday, but ofcorse Autozone now says K&n delayed it, and should be in by tuesday. Cant wait.:)

 

It's nice to have two of them, no waiting at cleaning time.

 

This is true,

When cleaning the K&N it is crucial to let as much of the red oils wick away before putting it back into the car. I keep my paper filter just for those occasions. Good advice.
