Maybe if I start saying "aluMINium" and develop a dry sense of humor, I can aquire an air of British sophistication.

ZZP oversized radiator

I just installed the ZZP radiator in my 2009 HHR SS.

Since I live in Phoenix, AZ, it was a precautionary thing before the summer heat gets here. (I purchased this car in January, 2024)

I also replaced the thermostat to AC DELCO unit at the same time.

The coolant temp WAS about 194-204
after the upgrade, it’s now 183-198.

the construction of radiator seems to be very very good. Not to mention it’s beautiful!
It’s also a direct bolt on with no modification needed.
the best part of it is that it was only $249.

installation was very straight forward. The only issue I experienced was the drain plug on the new radiator would stick out too far and hit the charge pipe. (I had moved the charge pipe forward to gain room for the upgraded 3-bar map sensors which prob is the reason why I had clearance issue). I just ground off the knob on the drain plug (about 1/4”) and it fit perfectly.
ZZP radiator had the mounting brackets for both fan unit and AC condenser. They were placed at the perfect location. Everything slipped right in as it’s supposed to.
I was able to install the deflectors on both sides and the piece on the top as well.
once it was done, you really cannot tell I have an over sized unit in there, just by looking at it,
unless you really know the car. (Which I like! I like the hhr SS so much cuz it’s such a fun to drive sleeper)

I feel this car should’ve come from the factory with this size radiator to begin with!! It gives me a peace of mind even in the 100+ temp day after day…

I’d recommend this to anyone in the warmer states!!
