Lightbulb Is better sound possible for the HHR SS Auto?

Hello everyone kinda hoping someone can help me out with a question. I have a 2008 HHR SS Automatic. I know the Manual trans has a better "throaty" sound. But my question is "is it possible for a Automatic to have that same pop/throaty sound if I would to swap out the stock muffler with say for example a Magnaflow? Has anyone tried it? Any good results? Havnt really found anything good on you tube for the Automatic. Any info/advice would be greatly appriciated. Thank you.

Sweet that's good news thanks. There's a local shop that would put in a magnaflow muffler with a bigger chrome tip for 210. Is that a good price?

Cool. I am from San Diego,I was going to ask what kind of sound you wanted. And if you were close enough I have an auto with a custom 3 inch exhaust. In my case I wanted flow without rasp. Didn't want high pitch sounds. and wanted a deep tone. We ended up using I think a 36" or maybe bigger resonator (don't remember exactly how long it was, but it was a long one) along with a Magnaflow muffler. I was very happy with the sound.

Seem Fair to me. I also switched the resonator, the mufflers I bought, didn't muffle anything, Funny how much it sounded like Rainmans, with the 3" Magna flow. Really throaty, is that a word ? I did the duals for the looks but they sound tough, get comments on it all the time. Don't plan on sneaking into the garage.

well I've heard of poll changing the resonator. But what is a resonator? What does it look like and where is it located?

How much does a resonator cost?

Well I changed the whole exhaust to 3 inch catless, and 3 inch all the way to the back. Its looks like a bullet, located in the straight piece around the center of the car.
