That's not the airbag, but it is part of the airbag system. Looking at this though now I can see why they wouldn't want to mess with the pillar cover.

I'd definitely sign up if they make a dual pod setup on top of the dash bin like the one for that Mazda. It reminds me of the OEM ones in a 350Z.

watch the video it will show you exactly where the air bag is.
Hey thanks for posting that. I just saw the little airbag emblems on the pillars and knew they where in there somewhere. It is good to know where they are so if I want to take A-pillar apart to put in new speakers I can. I see the complications in everyones communication. Yes there are airbags, just not in the place where you see the emblem. I have never had a car with side curtain bags so I was confused on how that plastic would pop out of the way for the bag. good video!

That is the side air bag for cars equipped with the ASF rpo code. It runs from the A-piller and past the rear seats

That's what were arguing about. I'm arguing that the side airbag isn't in the pillar themselves but starts at the top edge of the A-pillar and runs to the C-pillar. I even posted crash test video but seems only 1 person watched it

Another argument I could add is if the airbags were in the pillar, they wouldn't have put the Boost gauge on the pillar and would have put them in the dash like they do in the Caliber SRT4 (but even the side airbags in that car aren't in the pillars)

Anyways, a good argument always gets the brain juices going

Bottom line..........The A pillar cover moves ( some ) when an airbag deploys. Where the propellant is located is quite irrelevant.
