Custom Short ram!
Out with the old(relatively old) and in with the new...custom spectre intake....after two trips to the autoparts store(stupid employees), I put this together for about $50:D including the filter
OLD https://www.chevyhhr.net/gallery/fil...plexiglass.jpg NEW https://www.chevyhhr.net/gallery/fil...ecustomSRI.jpg For what its worth the new setup felt pretty good with the butt dyno..I chirped the tires easier than expected/normal. it might be because the old filter had 47,000 miles on it, and was pretty dirty. but the turbo and blow off are a little louder than when I had the plexiglass lid lift and no lid at all. This beats spending the $250 to $300 or more for an intake..as of now I have had no CEL after about 15-20 miles driving today. |
Sweet. Glad it worked out. I pieced a kit together for our Mazda but the quality of they parts felt horrid. So I just figured I'd save for a better brand. But you can't beat that for 50 bucks! :twothumbs:

the parts are almost all plastic from spectre(which i just found out). only 1 thing they make is aluminum, and thats a 18" or so pipe with a 45 degree bend at the end... But this will do for now, until I get bored with it again:lol: |
Ha that's funny. Same thing happened with the Mazda. Salesman said yea it should fit fine. Got home and..uhhh... No it will not work with the MAF. The setup of the spectre vs bigger brands is the same. Concept is the same. But I want something long term that will last several years. I don't think they will. But if your gunna change it again then yea you can't beat the price!
