Dyno Results: Trifecta E-47 base tune (pics and video inside!)

Went to Omaha's ICC car show/racing meet. This annual event is HUGE with an average of 2500 cars in attendance. They always have dynos on site and I just recieved my e-47 base tune from trifecta so I figured, what the hell, I'll strap the SS in and get a baseline. I submitted my logs to trifecta requesting more power because this tune feels like it delivers the same/less torque than my 93 tune, and the tq comes on a lot slower too. Can't wait to get it 100% dialed in.

wow, those are for real #'s what all have you done? stock turbo?

XtremeSS 08-10-2014 08:19 PM

My signature lists all my mods except I'm now running a custom intake. And yes, stock turbo. Realistically, with e47 fuel, those numbers should be a bit higher with a dialed in tune.

This Ethanol dyno graph, is from another member on this forum:
I too, super spike the boost early, for awesome beautiful torque:

Yea I've seen you post this awesome graph a few times, but you never mention the details of his setup?? Hopefully I can break 420ftlbs. I'm sure Vince can do it, just a question of if he will.

Here's a link to one of the few posts that he has made:
Can the auto handle excessive tq? HHR DYNO

And yes, it's up to Vince, some say that he won't do aggressive tunes, on automatics anymore...:skull1:

Maybe I'm a weak suck, but I wont ask again. Vince sent me 9 upgrades and mine still sucks.

Going to buy HP

If Vince is doing a great job for you, please say so, soon.

Well the updates take 2-4 weeks but I've learned to accept that lol. My 93 tune is pretty awesome considering I run the same time with it at 1/8 mile as I do with the e-47 tune so the power is probably very comparable between the two, which is why I asked him for more power. I'm also nearly fully bolted with hot and cold side charge pipes, ZZP IC, 3 bar maps, intake, down pipe, ect. AND I have the 5-speed. So I think all that plays into how he goes about tuning the car, maybe. My SS has always run excellent with his tunes. I've never had any problems that others have had. My only complaint is that this e-47 tune is not much better/faster than my 93 tune, however this is just the base tune and I have sent detailed info about what needs to be changed along with my data logs. I always include one street log and one drag strip log. We Will see what he is willing to do with the power.

SS fan, why does yours suck? Details please.

Don't know if Vince changes the DIC MPG readout, ask him about this.
The DIC is off, by whatever the "injector constant", amount of change, is programmed, for E47.

Stock Injector, [fuel], constant = 2840 , My E47 injector constant = 3355
Ask Vince what your E47 injector constant is, it should be real close to mine.
2840 x 100 = 284000 divided by 3355 = 85.65%
So, I multiply my DIC reading by 85.65%
DIC reading of 36 multiplied by 85.65% = 30.47 MPG , for me…

So, by volume , I'm using 15.35% more fuel, with an E47 mixture, you should be real close to the same.
Also, I'm figuring that my "tune" is probaby at least 15% more efficient, then the stock "tune".
So MPG with an E47 fuel mixure is the same as stock.
But, it sure is bad, when your using the power...:steering:
Basic laws of physics, you got to pay, to play...

You would hope he could tune the 5 speed....He had one in his garage, till CJ bought it. Mines an auto, I still have inconsistent boost, sometimes great sometimes 14 is all it does. Makes for a poopy auto cross. I went back and forth 9 upgrades on mine. The 5speed I tuned, wanted a zzp intake which I notice a lot of people run. He told me to take it off they don't work. I would like to add a big turbo, but won't do it because of His confrontational attitude.

Anyway, I'm buying HP and just writing off all the money I sent to Vince, lesson learned.

To His credit, my 2.4 runs very well with his tune, so there you go.:thumb:
