Good Stage 1 installer in NE

I just got the kit from Crate Engine Depot and now need an installing dealer. I'm in Staten Island NY. Our dealer doesn't do them. The next closest in Brooklyn NY never did one. I'm not sure I was them experimenting on mine. Anyone near here have a good install?

I had mine done at Gengras a little over a year ago (8/09) and haven't had any problems with the install. I believe I was their 2nd GMTU install at the time. They're right off I84 (exit 36 I believe?) It's an easy on/off location too which is a plus.

you do know that NE tradtionally stands for Nebraska.... I got extremely excited that someone found a dealer here to install it. All of the ones I have talked to are hands off so far. One is thinking about it.

Ask Dennis at Barton Birks. They did mine almost 2 years / 20k miles ago and did a perfect job on mine and have also done a few others in our group. I haven't had a stitch of trouble with the installation or the car for that matter. They have the proper dies, torch and know the ropes. At the time, they had a flat rate of 2 hours for all Cobalt Stage kits and HHR Turbo Upgrade kits. They did it while I waited. The waiting area has WiFi and a theatre. New York Thruway (I-87) exit #17, Newburgh, NY; About a mile or so from Orange County Choppers.

Just don't buy a car there. The sales manager wasn't honest with us, and actually shorted us on the value of our Blazer on a cash for clunkers deal, but the service dept and sales dept are 2 different worlds there.

3dmaint.... :) I was just ball breaking. Hope you have fun with your Stage 1. Your post made me get off my rear and call again. this time I called a friend first. He told me to call one of my lodge brothers at the Shrine here in Omaha. Well, i found out that lodge brother owns one of the dealers :) Said he will look into it :) I might have it before Spring weather really takes hold. Good luck HHR SS brother.
