Aww c/mon boys, at least he has the balls to swap turbos and see what happens, so give him a break. If it weren't for the auto trans being an Achille's heel, I would entertain the thought of a bigger turbo myself. ;-)

i would say half or almost half of the the people on the boards or that own these cars have an automatic. then there are people that just want to preserve it and keep it vanilla. i could be wrong, but most of us that own a hhr ss is about 35+ plus so all that kinda stuff doesn't matter or we are not in a big hurry to do it (big hp). this car isn't that popular. a 400 hp cobalt ss/tc is probably a more common sight than a hhr. for right now,i'm to a point, satisfied with my dyno numbers. there aren't many cars on the street that i can't hang with or beat. so,400hp on the hhr ss on STOCK internals on pump gas,is something to about. like asanti said,he had the balls to do it and trust his tuner with his car. once again props to gcsd!!

That's an impressive hp number. I have to see this HHR. For me anything over 300 hp is impressive.

Hit the nail on the head here! Most who buy the HHR SS compromise with performance, utility, and looks. Most hardcore performance enthusiasts are going to go to the Cobalt SS/TC instead of the HHR SS. Lighter weight and cheaper to start with. If you want to make outrageous power and low ets., the cobalt is simply an easier way to do it. Also, most HHR SS owners are older except for a few. I wanted to have a 450 fwhp SS but the auto trans will not hold that for a long time. I'm sure we'll start seeing bigger turbo swaps as warranties run out. Just the HHR SS crowd isn't as daring for huge performance numbers as the Cobalt T/C crowd is.

400HP is pretty impressive, I mean thats like 20HP per cubic inch, thats impressive for a 2.0, again on pump gas, and no broken bolt seals. Honestly, unless you have really deep pockets, its gonna be another couple of years before you see some serious mods.... kinda like we are seing with some of the '06's.

When you tell people its over 300HP, people are impressed. Our cars at 400HP are fast and light. and a contender for about anything on the road
