oh yea 400hp is definitely impressive. i'm just shocked that he's like the first one to do it on here.

i guess i'm used to the Cobalt site where it seems like every week someone is hitting that mark. i'm dynoing this weekend with a bunch of Cobalts, i'm excited to see what i'm putting down now that i have a nice new tune for the summer.

Her is the main diff. between platforms....... DEMOGRAPHICS

I have not seen many over 35 driving a Cobalt SS.... It is and always will be a kids(single M+F) car, that was its market. I very rarely see anyone under 35 driving an HHR, and the majority are Hearse material, hence the HHeaRse.

seriously, I bought it to carry a baby around... I was not gonna drive a mini-van and the wife refused anything without 4 doors, and a hatch. I got lucky. I got a 4 door wagon thats looks good, and every few months gets more power(around 320now). Rally don't throw us HHR's away that quickly. The demographic is right on, give it a few more years. People like me will have more disposable cash, as time goes on, and unless it gets totalled, my kid is gonna drive it one day....maybe.

One advantage of "old age" is the ability to afford nice toys, my SS has this under the hood so PFFTTTT!

i believe you, me & Bart are the youngest on the forum. maybe there's a few others that are in their mid 20s.

anywho, 400whp has become a bragging mark in the Cobalt world so i guess it's where all the cool people are.

i'm yet to see a 12 second time slip for a HHR SS.

in twenty years maybe... Just wait, you won't get younger thats for sure. Oh and demographics put most twenty-four year olds still living at home, so just wait till that disposable cash goes bye-bye with things like, house, wife, kids, etc.... and last time I checked mid-thirties ain't old.

Praise anyone in this economy who can dump cash away on their DD. there will be plenty more 400HP SS in the future, especially once someone makes an intake, and someone takes the leap with the (auto) and puts red pads in the tranny. Plus hafl-shafts above that HP are super expensive(CF).

For our cars to hit 400HP, the minimum (I'm guessing here) investment is around 5-7 grand, with everything involved. That is not a ton of money, but the majority will not invest that in something that will not give a good return, and once at that HP, what happens next is the continous upgrade of other parts as they start to go... Now were talking internals, more cash...

I'm 40, and my lovely wifey encourages more HP. She just bought an S4 and has been itching to make the skinny pedal more fun. Somehow I'll probably end up paying for all that HP for her, but at least she lets me drive it every now and then.
