The SS already has a fully functioning cold air intake system. If you are letting in air from any other part of the intake duct, then you’re probably losing some HP.
And be careful. Tinkering with the air flow is a good way to trigger a CEL. That could even throw it into “Limp mode”.
“Sounds cool” usually equals lost performance.

I basically repurposed other AIR INTAKE TUBING I got from the local salvage yard = essentially removing the box = keeping the MAS in it's same location, added extended ALUMINUM tubing w/a COLD AIR FILTER @ the end = had to make 2 easy brackets, etc but she seems to be running fine = I LIVE DATA a lot of her parameters while driving = & everything is within normal range/s = too soon to tell though if my homemade kit will improve on anything. I wanna see any mileage difference, if any = boost lose or gain = various AIR temperature parameters, etc etc etc...

I'm currently on the salvage yard hunt for those PANEL storage bins where the rear seats go on regular hhr's = I DON'T LIKE PPL IN MY BACK SEATS = I ALWAYS HAVE THEM FLAT DOWN = I CONSIDER MY SS A COUPE, LOL...

I'm still a newbie to the HHR SS model, but like most = I have enough mechanical skills = to not mess up my ride = HOPEFULLY, lol...

I just yapped about it, it's nothing special = it's tubing, adapter & new air filter = nothing major...

didn't think any negativity would come of it & I certainly didn't think it warranted a pic, etc. Now if i upgraded something major = of course I'd have attached an image...

OR DID YOU MEAN PICS OF THE LIVE DATA SCANS?...

Oh, don’t be so sensitive. Cranky old men dominate these forums. That doesn’t mean they don’t love you!

Now go take some pics and post them.
