For you guys that have done the MAF calibration, the tutorial by cobaltoverbooster advises to follow the steps in the tutorial "as written out maybe 11 or 2 times depending on how far off you maf calibration is. once it gets closer to 0, then choose..."

What am I referencing when he states "it gets closer to 0"?

I notice in the table, as you move farther to the right in the cells, it eventually gets to "0". Is this what he means? I just copy and "paste special" from logs until it pastes data on down to "0"

He's talking about your fuel trims you want your LTFT at 0. That means your maf is dialed in. You well have to do a 30min log then see what has change. Do what it says as far as to do to change the table. Then log again until your trim are 0 out or close to it.

The evap is on the intake manifold its the black sensor were it bolt to the manifold in the very front if your looking at engine bay.
I'll get a pic for ya later today.

quick kinda noob question on the MAF tuning again. at what point on the Hz scale should the trims begin to even out closer to 0?

My baseline scan from my drive to work this morning, after calibrating the MAF base to 1.00, show the 8,681 Hz as being about 14.11 in the histogram. It is the first cell with data. So should I start watching from the 8,681 Hz on down?

This process will eventually make all the trim numbers recorded in the scanner approach zero so that when you watch the chart (the one with the lines that move) while you drive the trims will be near 0 at all times and loads. The MAF cal histo in the scanner (the log) has the sum of the short term and long term scans. Make sure you select 'A' (average) for this histo before pasting) The trims are expressed as a percentage so when you paste by percentage to the editor you are telling the MAF chart, hey, you are off by 14.11%, so change that number by 14.11%. After you paste %, flash, log, repeat, the average numbers in all the cells in the scanner MAF cal histo (the log) will be close to zero. I'm sorry if I'm giving you a reiteration of anything you've already figured out but I'm trying to be as detailed as I can so I can hit exactly the spot that has you off course.

No reason to apologize Breadfan. I appreciate everything you're trying to do for me.

I absolutely hear what you are saying and I am doing as you do, but I am not getting the results I expect. When I take the average from the scanner for histo 1 and paste special % into the editor, my percentage goes up instead of down. So I am going from like 18.275 to 21.575.

It's one of those times I wish someone who has done this before could watch as its being done so everyone doesn't think I'm

The numbers in the MAF cal in the editor go up for me also when I paste a positive fuel trim %. As far as I can tell, for a positive fuel trim of 8% in a cell, you are raising that cell value in the MAF cal (in the editor) by 8%.

I just wanna give a big to Breadfan. Not only did he talk me through the MAF calibration, he logged in remotely and took a look at my histos and PIDs. Come to find out, they were set up incorrectly. Hence the reason I couldn't get it to even out.

So thanks again! Things are looking much better now.
