12.51 & 111.66 best last year.
Had a best of 12.69 my 1st day out last year, with new slicks.
Got out to the track maybe 6 times last year.
Lost 100lbs with lightweight wheels/tires/rotors, during the year, good for a tenth, at the track,
& providing awesome throttle response, on the street.

Here’s a post from last May of my 1st run of the year, with a video that I found on youtube:
https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/show...postcount=7908

It's me during the 1st 20 seconds of this video.

[QUOTE=2005HHRauto;641768]Finally got to the track this weekend.
This was my 1st run of the year, 1st run of the day, yesterday,
during time practice runs. 1st run with my new slicks too.
I'm in the left lane already staged, waiting for the 9.0 second, 150mph,
Cavalier to get his @ss staged.

As you can see from the video, & my timeslip, the Cavalier left early,
red lighting, & me, really late off the line.

If you stop the video at the 14 second mark you can see his red light.

You can here the announcer call out the 9.07 that the Cavalier turned,
at 23 to 24 seconds, in the video.

But my time you can't hear, because of the next pair of Mod class cars,
coming up to the line.

My permanent Pittsburgh Raceway Park car number, is 248 ,
so every time that I post a timeslip, look for LEFT:248 or RIGHT:248

12.51 timeslip

Here's a back-to-back comparision test of brake-boosting the turbo at the line:
It was a 'wash' between 3,500@15lbs of boost & 3,000@10lbs of boost. So I only use 3,000@10lbs now.

Sounds like a 12.30 or so will be the number to beat soon
I am shooting for a 13.99 in my hhr this year
And 9.95 in my studebaker
Then a 12.99 in my hhr once the warranty is off
These things are fun
If I could just get my gmtu to be there on the highway all the time without having to let off first then hit it and if the tune would hold the boost past 6000 or if I coukd get it to shift while in full boost I would be a happy camper.
Cant wsit to see the numbers you are all going to run
As long as we are having fun even s 17 second pass is great

I could probaby run a 12.3 at Englishtown , or Atco...
Hay, I was looking back into some of my old GMTU timeslips, & I was running 13.9s with E20, & 20psi in the front tires, 45psi in the back, if you want to give that a try.

It really does take much to get an auto HHR SS into the 12s.
Just some very basic Hot-Rodding, with an Ethanol mix.
Boost launching, off the line, is awesome...
This car is one of the easiest , to Hot-Rod.

1. K&N air intake system, or you can just buy the tube + filter for cheap$$
This will remove the intake restriction.
2. Hollow out, by simply 'coring' out, the 2nd cat, without removing the DP.
This will remove the exhaust restriction.
3. Turbo-Tech engine mount .
This will 'plant' the power, & get rid of torque steer.
4. E47.5 tune
This is good for 30-35 HP , over a gasoline only tune.
5. A day of your time to install the above.

You can use my E47.5 tune , to save you time, & yes, it can be used, as is, on any stock, HHR SS automatic with GMTU tune, without any problems, unlike 100% gasoline tunes. Email me for tune, or find it on the HPTuner forum.

These little 'buggys' are such excellent DDs too.
Fun to drive all year round.
Last night I left work at 1:30am, 20 degrees out , 15mph wind gusts , & a fresh coat, (half inch), of lake-effect snow on the main, & secondary roads. With the same "tune' that I use at the track in the car, in fact, everythings the same on the car year round. I just swap on the slicks, at the track. Traction control light came on a few times, when I was pushing it a little...

It's all about where you 'fall' on the 'MALT' , Max Air Load Torque , GMTU 'curve'...

This is the 'fix'...
