LNF RPM shift points

greetings all, I was curious on what RPM are you guys setting your auto trans to shift at WOT? im currently at 1-2 shift at 6K and 2-3 shift at 6150 (actual is closer to 6290).

nobody has any input or is this forum dead like all the other message forums thanks to social media (sarcasm).

Not dead, just that there's only a handful of tuners on the site. They don't check in frequently.

fst100 Sep 22, 2020 06:24 AM

that's unfortunate to hear. coming from the wbody and ls community tuners were plentiful and shared their experience and tricks in the tune whereas the ecotec forums (not here though) and fb groups they're so secretive on their setups and tunes

One of our tuning members, will check in eventually

I haven’t tune my 2010 SS 5-speed w/ performance package yet, but have given it some though. Not terribly knowledgeable on this subject.

Think it depends on boost. I would worry about overrunning programmed RPM limits in lower gears, 1st in particular and 2nd too.

I read an exchange on FB in which someone was incredulous that one might program zero boost in 1st gear. But if 1st will spin the wheels with no boost, why not, if you want to be conservative safety-wise? Anyway, I seems for each gear one should consider boost and RPM limit to evaluate how far you could overrun the limit and risk floating valves and other damage hazards.

I don’t have any answers.

I seems in the past year the there’s less activity here, perhaps due to Facebook, where the quality is horrendous, with lots of rapid fire answers of low quality if you’re lucky or dangerous misinformation if you’re not, and without anonymity, users seem hesitant to call out bs, perhaps out of fear of retribution.

I worry about the possible loss of the incredible info here and wonder about options for archiving this knowledge base at alternative locations.

You could take scene shots and keep them filed in your photo album

I agree that a lot of the discussions on fb now and is horrible because the info disappears because theres no way to archive and go back to it other than saving it as one's favorites. I also notice on fb groups that ppl especially in the ecotecs groups that everyone's secretive on tuning and enforce paying someone to get their custom tunes. on message forums you don't see that hardly happen but rather ppl are more than willing to be helpful.

I currently adjust my 1st and 2nd gear boost/torque low and gradually ramp it in the upper RPMs. I use the GMS1 and hugger1975 tune that he was gracious to forward to me to look at as reference especially on the e47 material. still cant find anyone to help me tune on the auto trans unfortunately.
