Thumbs up New B&M short shifter

Hi all , I installed my B&M short shifter last weekend. It's such a differance, shifts smoother, quicker, And it feels like my hand is attached directly to the gearbox . It took me about 90 min. to install. After doing it , i could probally do the install in 45 min. , now being familar with the parts.

It makes a big dif. If your considering one, DO IT you won't be sorry. My decision to do one was easy, As it was given to me buy a Cool 17 y.o. that totaled his 2007 cobalt ss ( Thanks Danny , Your da man )

Scale of 1-10 tecnical dificulty = 4
pain in the azz = 11

It's something I want to do, I don't really like the stock shifter...

What are your feelings on the B&M? Had any problems with it?

I just ordered one. I figure since I already have the dash/console tore apart, I might as well swap the shifter while I'm at it. Is your level threaded and can different handles be installed?

Yes , threaded knob. I would think you could use some, as long as it did'nt mess with the rev lock out function.

My lever will move to the left once in R, so I may try and engineer a better lockout tab while I'm at it. Not like I have time for all these projects, I still haven't put the dash top back on.

You're probably not catching the black plastic lip that sticks up from the frame with the blue lockout slider on the shifter knob. In theory, adjusting the cable takes care of this... but be careful, as (at least mine) the plastic piece that captures the cable adjustment breaks easily, and then you're hosed.
