no I didn't It was installed at the Chevrolet dealership.
They were great! They let me buy the engine from zzp and the turbo and exhaust manifold. That saved me thousands of dollars. They also gave me a huge discount on the labor. Simi Valley Chevrolet has treated me really great. And I have bought a new car from them with a great discount too!
Just can't say enough nice things about their customer service..Really great people.

Hey Tim,
Since we'll have about the same setup. What turbo did you go with? And did you ever get those whp figures? I'll be starting my build thread soon, the new gen 3 is on the way!

Kind of did the same thing. Turbo went out at 106,000 and shrapnel took out the engine. Chevy put in one of their "rebuilt" 2.0. Already had the GMPP upgrade kit and the K&N cold air kit. When job was done the performance upgrades were added to the computer. It is now traction limited big time! Want to add a pre-oiler to charge the turbo before start up. If you run across a good one, let me know. I will keep looking also. The performance upgrades changed the fuel curves, etc., but also made the boost kick in and the downshifting seamless. No more downshift and then boost or boost and then downshift. Everything happens at the same time. Acceleration at light throttle is great. Lost some gas mileage though, but worth the trade-off. Haven't dyno'd it, but it is obviously over 300 HP.

I paid top dollar at Chevy, but got another 100,000 mi warranty on the engine. Chevy was $6000.00 Bought the turbo from outfit in San Diego who gave me a good deal. It was Borg-Warner original item. Around $800.00. The upgrades were also added by Chevy from their racing programing.

The GMPP kit cost originally $700.00 installed. Put it in when first bought the car in 2009.
