Normal driving conditions
Couldn't download the video to my tablet = just a still picture of the LIVE DATA drive. So far, the #'s stay within their normal range/s = but I'm still learning about all this...
let me know if anything looks off to you guys???
I think I only get up to 20 InHg vacuum, even when the engine was new. And while I don't know what the IAT is supposed to be, but that seems high. Is your homemade CAI actually bringing in cold air from outside of the engine bay? Most aftermarket intakes do not.
Intake air temp. You’re sucking hot air into the intake. The stock breather assembly will keep the air intake temps within 0-7 degrees of the outside ambient air. Cooler the better.
Guess your backyard cold air intake ain’t working.

Where the original hard plastic tubing went from the box to a factory hole right above the motor mount = that's where I installed the tubing & was able to fit the air filter comfortably spaced = not just crammed in there...
I'll get a picture up soon = I currently have the valve cover off = I'm cleaning the valve cover, it wasn't filthy, but among other things = I'm cleaning up up the engine bay as best I can = as well as replacing any & every hose/tubing I can...
…or figure out how to make the hole through the fender well a bit bigger. It is a bit snug.
Starting from bone stock, impressive gains are possible if you just:
Something in the neighborhood of 25 psi boost is probably optimal and pushing the point of diminishing returns. Know that you might end up popping tubes off the inter cooler or cracking it, so an aftermarket item should be in the plans and there’s efficiency just doing it with the charge pipes.
The stock muffler is straight-through. The stock exhaust system is not very restrictive, and once the cat is gutted, not really a factor unless you go farther with the mods (which you want to consider carefully with yer automatic.) And the resonator keeps the noise level civil, if you care.

- Gut the cat
- Add aftermarket (larger) charge pipe
- 3-bar MAP sensors and GMTU-based tune (as a baseline)
