Oil leak alert!

Actually more like sweatin', but....Anyone gettin' a oil leak from the cam cover......on the drivers side of the engine, just kinda behind the oil filter, where the valve cover bolts to the head.......looks like a easy fix,... remove three bolts, clean, apply the right sealer, reinstall the bolts to proper spec, let sit until sealer cures.....but I'm not trustin' the local chebby dealers very much.......long stories that makes ya wonder how they stay in business.

Yep i have the same thing. I did not notice any oil loss when I did the change, and the little puddle where it collects didnt seem to be growing.

I just wanted to throw this in the mix.

I recently had my oil changed (for the last time) by EZ Lube. After about a month I see a puddle under my car. I pop the hood and oil is puddled behind the oil filter cap and running down the front of the engine. I drove straight to EZ Lube and they decided to replace the filter again. Then the tech tells me that they have been getting these type of filters in without the o-ring in the box. Sure enough the one he brings up has no o-ring in the box. He goes down stairs and returns with one which is double the thickness of the o-ring that was on my car. In fact he had a hard time removing the smaller o-ring from the filter cap. So for a month I was blowing oil out of the filter cap. This might be something to check as it sounds like it was in the same area of the engine.

Can you guys tell me which engines? I need to know the exact location of the leak. I will pass the information on to the engineers.

2.0 in the SS...except The oil hasn't been changed yet.........and it appears to be coming from below the drivers side cam cover area but not the cover itself
