Stage kit issue?

I just had my Stage kit installed today. After I picked it up I noticed when at idle the boost gauge is reading -14 and before the install it read -20 all the time, is this a sign of a leak in the intake? I am hitting 22psi but it actually feels slower off the line and doesn't make a real difference until you get past 3000 rpm. Anyone have this problem?

When its at -14 your ac isnt on is it? If the AC is off i would bring the car back, you have a vacuum leak somewhere. Im accually sitting at -22 at idle

It stays at -14 with the a/c on or off the only time it will hit -20 is when I down shift.

Stage Kit torque

The Stage Kit torques is added above 2500 rpm. Below 2500 the torque is the same as production.

I didn't feel any difference until about 3,000 RPM with the tune, and then it is a very noticeable increase.
If you are not getting that, I would have them check to make sure that the lower sensor was modified correctly (cut off the nib) or it may be leaking.

I have an auto and just got mine installed. I used to idle at -20 too but I now idle at -14. At about 60mph when I let off the gas the boost is at -22. At about 40mph with no gas it moves to -20 and from then on slowly moves to -14 until a full stop. Seems like Chevy might have changed things from earlier ECM flashes. Too much of a coincidence that you and I are getting the same readings, with the same install date for there to be a problem.

I saw this today after actually looking for it....but have not experienced any adverse effects... it runs as it always has since the kit was installed, great! As for the -14..wel..its similar while cold when its around -5 till it settles down off the cold circuit.I'd say it just the turbo staying slightly spooled up for whatever reasons....I have no problems with off the line power,, its there, period. Now the other complaints about low boost at certain speeds/loads, since this thing is so electronically controlled, you have spark knock, low gas, heat, heat soak on the IC, eng load , manifold vacuum and so forth. Boost levels are going to vary, only a mechanical system would stay totally boosted all the time,( and probably tear something up in the process). I think we all just need to learn the quirks of this system and question the abnormal, when everybody says their car is doing the same thing I'd say its normal. Then there are those that expect way more then this system has to offer, remember, GM has built in many safeguards, they don't want to be spending money they don't have on a bad system. Then again, anything thats considered stock( including GM HP parts) 'can' be made better.JMHO
