Is the stage upgrade really necessary?

Bet that title got your attention, and made you think I was an idiot. :D
Of course some form of upgrade is necessary:D

Please lets not discuss my warranty, I am well aware that if I have my car tuned it will void my powertrain warranty.

With that said, is there an advantage to the stage 1 upgrade compared with a custom tune? I am aware that the stage kit changes some sensors, but I believe some of the higher hp cars on this forum are using the stock sensors. What do these sensors allow the car to monitor that the originals do not?

I have to choose between a custom tune and some other undecided parts or just the stage 1 upgrade. It is obvious which choice sounds like the better one (yes except for the warranty). Will I regret not doing the stage upgrade with future mods?

We can tune you to Higher HP than the stage tune with stock sensors.

I would get the GM kit for now. Then when the warranty is over, get a tune.
The upgrade sensors are supposed to be more accurate at high boost, so theoretically you could also get more out of a custom tune. While youre at it, a good quality aftermarket intercooler, piping, intake and exhaust. :thumb:

Only advantage of stage tune (believe this is your question) is the warranty and the sensors you get. With that said Trifecta has there tune which hides it from GM, plus you can switch from factory tune to the higher tune with the TC button or cruise control. Some of us have tuned over the gm stage tune and others have it in the works.

Just because you've decided to get the stage upgrade doesn't mean you're not an idiot.

Just sayin'. :poke:

Do you know of an intake that has been proven to add more power than the stock intake? :poke:
