Surging at idle
Surging at idle
I did a quick search on the boards and did not come up with anything so I'll post my question.
I picked up a new to me 08 SS auto almost 3 weeks ago. It has the GMTU already installed, but no other tuning completed. The car has been absolute flawless. Till this afternoon. As I was leaving work, I was talking to a co-worker, with the vehicle running, in gear, but with the brakes applied. I could feel a slight surge (4-5 times) in the engine and noticed the boost gauge fluctuate between 10 psi and 5 psi vacuum (not in boost). I put the vehicle into park and goosed the throttle a couple of times. Put the vehicle back into gear, felt a slight surge again, not as bad. I shut the vehicle off and restarted and all was fine.
No CEL, engine cold (sitting for over 8 hours).
Now the GMTU looks like its the older version with the soldered wiring (non-plug n play), but the connections look fine. No signs of rubbing, or poor joints.
I'm hoping its just a fluke type of this. But want to know if there is anything I should keep my eye out for if this happens again. I'm hoping that I won't have to replace the harness due to a poor solder job that I can't see.
I guess push comes to shove, I'll check the wiring connections to see if there is any resistance in the soldered connections.
