Turbo Upgrade Name VS Stage 1 name

Well there was a debate over the name of the Upgrade kit or Stage kit as some call it. Well I e mailed the Gentleman who leads the work on this kit and here is what he had to say.

The kit on the Solstice/Sky and HHR SS is referred to as the LNF Turbo Upgrade Kit. That is what is says on the box and the instustions. When we added the Cobalt SS, since it was at a lower HP than the other cars 280 hp vs 290 hp. There was a plan for a possible further upgrade to get the HP. So to the Cobalt SS owners it was marketed as a Stage 1 kit. Please don't ask about Stage 2 for the Cobalts because I can not comment.

So if I understand him as stated the HHR SS the kit is a Turbo Upgrade kit.

If the kit is sold for the Cobalt SS as a Stage 1 since they would like to do a Stage 2 to gain back the 10 missing HP.

So there it is from the guy incharge of this from GM. Like it or not we have a Turbo Upgrade kit in the eyes of GM not a stage kit in the HHR SS.

Hint I would not expect any more upgrades from GM for the HHR SS since they are stopping production this year. If they do any it would be a suprise. GM has a lot of new product to make more parts for and some will use the 2.0 turbo so some of these may apply?

First new car up with the 2.0 Turbo will be the Regal GS next year.

The kit does say that but the bulletins say Stage Kit.

And just for clarification, I could care less what it's called.

Well thats not good, sounds like they are thinking of possibly making a stage 2 for the cobalt ss/tc (intake and tune most likely), while we get nothing. A good tuned intake is going to make up more then 10 hp on these engines.

The only thing I know for sure is that I don't care what anyone calls it. It's cool, it makes the SS go fast and I like it! :thumb:

Hyper I'm not doggin you on this. That is the correct name. But everyone is going to call it what they call it. Kind of like every tissue I see I call a Kleenix, they aren't made by them but it's what I have said my entire life. It's all good no matter what people call it. And your research shows what the kit is truly called. :thumb:
