The transmission needs to be dropped down to access the side cover, not a job for a novice wrench.

 

I figured that much. The thing with the shifting problem is that it only happens from first to second. The solenoid that controls that shift also controls the second to third shift and the car donest have any issues shifting from second to third in a similar rpm range. Could this be a sign another more serious issue? If theres not enough info to give a good answer, are there any tests I can do myself to find out more useful info for you guys?

 

The 1-2 is one solenoid and the the 3/4 solenoid is the same part number but a different solenoid

 

Ah ok I didnt have the diagram to look at while I was at work. I work at Advanced Auto and just searched the for the part and that's the Info I got. I defiently appreciate the all the help I've recieved with this. I'm going to ask a few mechanics I know about how much they would charge and take it from there, thanks guys!
