2.2L Tuning options?
2.2L Tuning options?
well i was disappointed to discover HPTuners does not support the 2.2L past '06....
i have found what appears to be a Jet Module '08 2.2L HHR application.....i was just hoping to find something that had adjustable tuning to dial it in a little better for my conditions and any changes like intake and exhaust....
any other SELF-tuning options out there?
thanks in advance for your help......

Jet Performance says that they have a swap out performance chip for the 2.2L and the 2.4L...
One of the site vendors offers them.
Here is a link for my 2008, LT, 2.2L....

I'm not a fan of the Jet chips, they offer no control or feedback on the tune, your left to the mercy of the Jet peoples tuners.
I want either a mail-order tune that can be customized, a hand-held tuner or self-tuning via software/laptop.

Any idea why the 2.2 support is still non-existent? The Ecotec has been around since 2000, I would imagine that 8 years should be plenty of time to get the tuning options figured out. Granted, there was the updates in late 07 to the 2.2, is that what has caused the delay?
Its frustrating when my 98 Chevy pickup has more handheld and self-tuning options available than I know what to do with, but a great engine such as this is still in the stone age, so to speak, for aftermarket tuning options.
Dunno, maybe im just expecting too much

The ability to swap back the chip, with a battery disconnect, helps me get more out of my engine, and allows me to avoid screwing up the warranty. IMO

this is ridiculous... all that is really available for tuning the 2006 HHR is a woody kit, a basic chip upgrade, and some parts from the dealership? with all the response CHEVY had with the production of the HHR, and the customizing potential for this car... all that is available are basics? come on... somebody out there has to have something... I'm looking forward to upgrading my HHR from rubber to roof... that was one of the reasons I bought this car... but i guess if I have to custom it all, I'll at least make my parts available to others...
in fact the cost of tuning with HPTuners is NEARLY set in stone it is 2 credits for 99% of their supported vehicles and credits have a fixed price of $50....
what bill told me was that it was being looked at but it was not a priority and don't look for the support any time soon, were his exact words......
EDIT: here is a HPTuners Forum thread to keep up with, i just started a thread so all you 2.2L owners that want support login and SAY SO....
