The fouler has nothing to do with short circuits. There is a wire shorting somewhere involving one of those modules, or one of them has an internal problem. I don't know what other mods you may have blindly tried. P0420 means your cat is broken.
I did know that my cat is shot which is why I tried the defouler. The downstream sensor is definelty in a tight spot with the defouler in and defiently could be the source of the short. I'm going to check the downstream sensor and around the rear subframe, is there anywhere else you would suggest that I should check?

My bet is the wire end of the O2 sensor is jammed into the frame. The wires are now shorting.

I'm willing to bet your right. I'm going to jack it up in an hour after work. I will report back with my findings and pictures

Yeah I'm 90% sure that the wire from the O2 sensor is shorting to the frame. Here are the pics I got.

As you can see the wires are wrapped around a bit and the back end is pushed right up against the frame. This is also assuming that the short is out of sight.

This is the whole picture if anyone was wondering about the drilled out spark plug defouler thing I did. I don't know if it worked yet because the O2 sensor is most likely shorting and cause the other problems.

It's the definetly not at the rear subframe since there are no wires there (I wasn't paying too much attention to that when I had the car on the lift).

BTW, this is the real answer to "how did you know"? Been there, done that. There are 90 degree adapters, look in the section that has parts for hot rodders that eliminate the cat.

Oh ok I see. I will definelty look into getting one of those. Either way, I'll still have to get a new O2 sensor ill just run rich without the sparkplug defouler untill I can get one of those 90° defoulers

The #2 sensor mostly just monitors the health of the Cat. It is the #1 that adjusts A/F.

Just finished replacing the downstream stream O2 senor and EXH fuse #33 and that did the trick! Thanks for all the help guys! This forum is a godsend

The white and black wires had worn through. Although very small bits of wire are exposed, it was enough to short the circuit and blow the fuse.
