2008 HHR 2.2. Suddenly having multuple codes and profirmance issues.

I had a few strange things start happening with the 2008 HHR. First it would crank or attempt to start. battery was good and lights all worked. Then it would start fine. Next day temp gauge was zeroed out and ac was out. Next day I went to take it in but it was fine. Then it started loosing power and then suddenly surge and accerate. Then engine light came on. Had codeas checked and from codes and syptoms, it was recommended I change the MAF. changed MAF and it didn't change a thing. Had codes read again and it came up qith a laundry list. of 12 codes. Reset EMC and drove around but no engine light and no codes but still having surges of powr and loss of power

Hi mnsteel to the forums!!

Sounds like your battery is headed south, or the underhood fuse block needs to be tightened up.

To properly diagnose, we need the actual alphanumeric codes.

You probably should have put down the whole laundry list of codes. Even I can look them up for you and give you a better educated guess as to what is wrong with your buggy that way.

It has been my experience that you rarely need to actually replace the MAF {Mass Air Flow sensor} usually a good cleaning and making sure you have I properly hooked up is good for them. Naturally if it is broken or otherwise destroyed it does need to be replaced.

I do wish you luck fixing things, post the actual code and others will help.

Could also be loose or corroded battery terminals.

the cables look good. both on battery and underhood. Battery also checked out.

The cables look good on battery and at fuse box. battery checks out as good.

How do, where did you have the battery load tested?
You should also inspect the underhood fuse box halves.
Welcome to the site.
Multiple codes like this usually point to a dying battery, loose or dirty ground connections and rodents dining on the wiring harnesses

I would start with taking the under hood fuse box apart and applying dielectric grease to all of the connections on the bottom of it. After checking the battery that is.
