Airaid Cold Air
Not sure if anyone has posted anything on this but has anyone installed an "Airaid" cold air intake on their hhr? Does it make any noticable differences, Does it play havic with the mass air sensor? Any pics of the installation? Thanks for any reply.

Ran one for over a year. decent mod, performance gains are negligable but it does sound good when you get on the throttle. Automatic 2.2 motor only, will fit a 5 speed but will run into interference with the hood insulation. Best intake mod out there though. CGS and WeaponR soak too much heat in the warm weather and K&N doesn't offer a kit for the 2.2 motor. Hope this helps.

I would not say it DOES NOT FIT a 2.2 with a 5-speed.
I have such a critter and I have one on mine - occours I only ordered the tube, filter, and screws for MAS.
I made my own mounting bracket and I do not use the box.
Below are just Two pics from my Gallery.

I have the K&N FIPK #57-3056 (sold for the 2.4) on my '08 2.2 HHR. There is one modification needed to make it fit, apparently the threaded holes atop the valve cover vary between the 2 engines. There are 4 pre-drilled holes on the base of the closed box that the filter fits in. One, and only one, of those holes doesn't line up. So simply measure the threaded holes on the valve cover for their location, mark & drill a new one on the filter box base, and you're done. Ridiculously easy, all K&N has to do is sell the same number kit with one extra super tiny hole, and the kit fits both engines. I sold K&N for 10 years, installed a number of 'em too, and this kit is a good one. The enclosed box that the filter fits in is a nice thought. Maybe not the same punch as the CGS, but still pretty sweet.
