I got the airade cold air box on a 2009 2.2 fitment was great, performance was a plus !!

I had the CGS and cut a section of the plastic down low next to radiator for cold air worked for me, then modiefied the CGS and adde a 10 inch Edelbrock air filter made a big diffrence.

To answer your question VinceP - It sucks in no more warm air than a CGS or Dragon Intake would - they all are confined to the engine compartment (unless you want to start cutting holes and/or running a **** load of tubing).

I have to disagree to a tiny extent. The location of the stock box and any filter setup that sits on top of the valve cover like pic'd above is also sitting almost directly over the EXHAUST manifold. The exhaust manifold is one of if not the hottest parts inside the engine bay and having it sandwhiched between the motor and the firewall traps a lot of that heat feeding it directly to any open air filter. This is why the stock box has the side extension to pull air from the fender area insted. IMHO the box will still get warmer then it would if it were on the drivers side of the engine bay behind the left headlight. If you were to do a thermal scan of an engine bay at normal op temps you will find that the areas furthest away from the exhaust and engine block will be cooler then the areas at the engine. Best is to pull from the actual fenders.

my airaid helped the engine sound better IMO, but didnt notice any performance increase. Dyno said 123 hp at the wheels.

I hate to resurrect an old thread, but I'm hoping you might supply a part number for the GM Performance air box for the 2.2L.

Does anybody know if these can be found anymore?

But, the GMPP unit is no longer available.
