anybody wear one of these?

Was wondering if anyone has put one of these on yet? Seems like an inexpensive mod for some gain. :D

I know some that have done that mod and topped it off with a custom tune by Trifectia to give them the best performance.

I have the 2.4 intake manifold on my HHR I love it. and like tom said with the tune is like holy ****!! without the tune u get great power at the top end. with the tune your power starts at 3,000 rpms witch is lower mid range. with my mods I'm running 150.40 horsepower 144.33 torque this is to the wheels.

i had that on my turbo'd 2.2 cobalt

Yeah I have heard you can get gains from putting the 2.4 maifold on the 2.2, and it would probably be a lot cheaper to find one used.

Doctuh 06-17-2010 02:27 PM

What exactly is this?

The link in the original posting is to an aftermarket part, but the discussion is mostly about putting the 2.4 stock part on a 2.2. I'm confused! Is this aftermarket part the same thing as a stock 2.4 part? If so, why not get the one from a used 2.4 inexpensively since this is, as far as I can see, a piece of sculpture with no moving parts?

Talvanos 06-17-2010 05:06 PM

As for the intake, it is not the same as the 2.4 intake. This intake is supposed to move your power band a little higher in the range. Not sure if this is exactly what I want yet, I was looking to get some input from anyone that might have it installed. the 2.4 intake might be the better option, I am not sure yet.

I have a few things in the works Tom, New Cam, Intake, Exhaust, CAI. Possible new throttle body(dont know what my options are on that yet). A Teriffick Tune form Trifectia is my must have even if I only get minor stuff done.

I have been doing a lot of research on different parts. Time is cheap and I want to make sure I am getting exactly what I want/need before I make ANY purchase. I am putting together a complete system so it all works together harmoniously(is that a word?)

I should have a PDF soon in my signature with all my planned mods along with part numbers and web sites. Updated as I get the parts installed. Might even do write ups with them on how to install or what problems I ran into.

Sorry for being so long winded.

PS:
Teaser, PDF will include Rear Disc brakes mod using GM parts. :poke:

the one in the original post is the 2.4 manifold prior to the 2.2 and the 2.4 having the same manifold. i think this happened in 2008. check out the cobalt site as it has a lot more info on this mod.

I had ordered one for my 2.2 2009 Panel, but found out later that it already comes with one from the dealer, just returned it with no problems.
