CObalt perfromance on HHR

Does anyone know if the air intake catback and headers work on the hhr?

Intake is a definate NO! Engine bays are different. Fujita, AEM, and even the "JDM" brand on EBay all make the intake drop to the pass side and we have NO room like they do. Also the piping on those are 3" and the HHR needs a 2.5" pipe or it will eventually throw a code.

Header (singular, not headerS, we only have one exhaust side of the engine), YES any header for the cobalts will fit. ALL engines offered in the Coby/Ion/HHR are using the same bolt/head fittings. Pacesetted, XTC, CA, ZZP... they all fit. with NO modding the header needed. HOWEVER some HHR's and Cobalts have a secondary air injection that connects the head to the intake. These WILL NOT WORK no matter what!!!

All exhausts are bolt on affairs! Everything swaps except the hangers. Some of the hangers are different. All Cobalt/Ion/HHR share the same chassis (delta platform) and therefore have IDENTICAL exhaust routing. Even the coupes!

I myself have a GMPP manifold, gutted SS/SC downpipe, and custom 2.25" Exhaust... some people here like the IMCO mufflers that Mike sells on his website www.socalhhrs.com Personally I like my exhaust a little louder. I use a magnaflow universal 2.25 straight through bolt on oval with a welded tip. Biggest difference I have found was with the SS/SC downpipe. W*O*W*!*! Feels like a whole other car!

One of the HHR owner's on here has a GMP exhaust from a Coby on his HHR if I remember correctly. Hope this info is useful!

Air Intake & Cat-Back = no (cat-backs require custom fabbing).
Headers = yes.

Hope it helps,

Yes opOnGamE. We can use their header and dp. Although the CA header is better because it cuts the outside of the header to 2.5" instead of 3" to help with midrange.

Yeah it hurt a bit but you know I had in one year more issue with my cobalt than any car i have ever had. Yeah it ran like hell, but I had to have rotors swapped cruise control , clutch and various other goodies over 1 year and it had only 9,000 miles
