It would never be as good as an aftermarket tube header but it would not have the problems of leaks and it would be quieter. Decent comprimise in my opinion if the 2.0 SS /TC is much better than the stock 2.2.

JoeR, Do you think the 2. SS / TC is the same as the 2.4?

GTOMIKE, did you start with the smaller 2.2 manifold or the 2.4?

Thanks to all, Curly
Curly I used my stock 07 2.2 I also have a brand new 06 2.4 they are the same part there are no differences at all. This mod would benifit all the 2.4 owners as they have the same restrictive manifold as the 2.2 engines.

Curly1, In 1972 I bought 1962 GMC 5ton stake body with 235-V-6,2brl.carb. Pulled carb & re built. New gasket on intake then covered all of intake opening with brass fuel filter screen put small bit of rtv sealer on & new gasket on top re-install carb. Gas milage was 5-6 mpg before, after stop & go down town Miami 24 mpg city. Think this would work with fuel injection? Just wonder what you think.

GtoMike, Nice job on your manifold. What would you charge to do my 2.2.

according to chevymgr the manifolds are not interchangable between engines.

To quote Brad's (ChevyMgr) sig... "Some things I know, Some things I don't"

I know of a bunch of the Cobalt crowd that's done swaps, so, at least some (mostly earlier) work.

The confusion seems to be over changes that have taken place at some points in time.

Here's a pic of the '06 2.2 L61 manifold with the '06 2.4 LE5 and 2.0 LSJ manifolds for comparison. Notice how small the outlet is on the 2.2. At some point, the 2.2 did change, but don't know when and haven't seen one.
