Hesitation on acceleration 2.2 Dune Buggy

I have a 2.2L ecotec 2005 motor in my buggy, (also have a 2007 HHR 2.4L) and it has a small studder when coming off idle, the TPS I put a scope on and has no glitches in the entire range. any suggestions for the next thing to check?? no extras no cat, no vapor stuff, just Map, tps, ait, thanks ED

Ed ,welcome to the site, if your buggy came with a 2.4 in 2007, the it would have VVT.
Is the 2005 2.2 in the HHR or in a dune buggy?
I would inspect the throttle body, clean it throughly with a quality Throttle Body cleaner, not carb cleaner or brake cleaner.
If the 2005 2.2 is in your 2007 HHR, then there’s the problem, while it’ll fit in physically it’s not gonna work because it doesn’t have VVT.

I was not clear, I have an HHR that is my wifes baby with the 2.4L.
but my buggie has the 2.2L ecotec from a 2005 Cavalier. and I will take your suggestion and clean the throttle body with TB cleaner as you say sound like a plan. The reason I went with the HHR for my wife and I was the timing chain and the abuse that motor can take in our buggie and the low cost for the motors.

Double check the wiring harness for the MAF sensor also.
And thanks very much for clarifying your buggy is a buggy, and now your HHR is a trucklet!

What sort of fuel supply system? I suspect a low pressure situation. On the HHR the pressure is regulated instead of having a return rail.

this 21.2L has a return line and we are using a 60psi fuel pump. on the 2.4 we put together it had a fuel pump and regulator with a seperate return off the regulator. thanks for the suggestion

I checked the throttle body and it was clean but still flushed it with throttle body cleaner and removed the MAP sensor and replace it with one from another motor I have and cleaned it up, not changes. I am suspection a fuel injector that may not be obvious at a increased rpm. I just picked up a usb scope and when I get back would like to compare the ampredge ramping of the injectors to see if there is any that are different and to play with the new toy. but open for suggestions.
