New Owner Needs Directions

I recently bought a 2011 HHR with about 36 K miles that I will tow behind my motorhome. Went to the HHR as my wife is handicapped and could no longer climb into my Toyota Tacoma. So far I am pretty pleased with the car but was wondering if there were any specific mods that I should make for better over all performance and roadability. Seems to have a lot of road noise and ride a little rough on the deteriorated California roads.

As always thanks in advance.

I put better tires on and it rides great now.:twothumbs:

Agree with SSfan. Tires make a huge difference. Don't know what tires you have but I had the Firestone affinity's from day one. I had no idea how loud they were till I put on my current coopers.

I was thinking along the same lines, however being somewhat of a cheapscate I will probably wear the present ones a little longer. I did invest in a new set of rims which do improve the appearance.

Keep the ideas coming.

Nothing needs or should be done if it is going to be pulled behind the motorhome. Leave it as stock as possible and spend the cash on "creature" comforts for the wife. I'd think she would appreciate the thoughfullness of "mods for her".......ask her what she'd want in the HHR or what she'd like to see done to it.

.....and congrats on the new purchase. I enjoy mine more everyday.

Tires worked great the change is like night and day, from the stockers I went cheap , Hercules some thing or other, now have just 4,000 miles on a set of BFG Traction T/A's they are quite and have great grip in heavy rain.I run them at 32 psi.

Great ideas I asked my wife what kind of comforts she would like. She now wants Robert Redford as her driver.....Sigh... Never ask a question unless you know the answer.
