Disappointed with K&N intake

Im not talking performance or gas mileage, but I thought it said it was a sealed cool air system and it is far from sealed.

I can slide my finger into the box beside the intake tube if that shows you how big of a gap I'm talking about.

There are also 2 random holes drilled into the bottom of the box.

Oh well, just thought I'd rant a little.

Now to seal it up properly!!!

i put a clamp with a chunk of rubber i found in my garage around the tube on mine when i had it for my 2.4. you could always silicone caulk the holes? just an idea if you do these to things, the intake will be quieter

Debadged mine as soon as I got home from the dealership. I'm planning to get the springs by the weekend. I've got a guy that said he'd help me get them on.

K&N will tell you that gap & holes are needed, to perform properly..This has been discussed a few times before..

I wonder why they didnt add a second cool air tube to the drivers side headlight space to help with the problem. Which Im assuming is a lack of air through the stock tube by itself.

The holes, like the GMPP CAI, I would say are for condensation drains..

But the gap on the K&N is kinda weird.

Bingo, condensate drains like the GMPP part, but maybe combined with "so so" quality from the gap Josh has described.
