Dtc p1682

2010 Malibu 2.4L
I have been dealing with a very difficult to find and terribly annoying issue. About 1 year ago the check engine light tripped and the car went into a reduced engine power mode. It's a company car so we took to Chevy dealer. It had a trouble code P1682, It's been in and out of dealer 4 times they have changed the gas pedal sensor, throttle body and wiring, knock sensor, coolant sensor, ECM and the battery. Car still kicks trouble code P1682 engine shuts down, hardly stays running and can't go over 20mph. I know it's a Malibu but I'm just looking for any help at all, I've tried so many different avenues for help, any ideas?

Not sure why they would replace all those items, when a quick search using Google resulted in this: P1682 CHEVROLET Ignition 1 Switch Circuit 2 | AutoCodes

Which points to the following as being possible causes:
Possible causes

- Faulty ignition switch
- Ignition Switch harness is open or shorted
- Ignition Switch circuit poor electrical connection
- Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM)

P1682 Chevrolet Description:
There are 2 ignition 1 voltage circuits supplied to the Engine Control Module (ECM). The first ignition circuit is provided by the powertrain relay, through a fuse. This ignition 1 voltage circuit supplies power to all the internal ECM circuits associated with the throttle actuator control (TAC) operation. The second ignition 1 voltage circuit is supplied by the run/crank relay through a fuse, and is used to power the remaining internal ECM circuits. If the ECM detects a voltage difference between the 2 ignition 1 voltage circuits, DTC P1682 will set.

I'd find a different dealer.

The Bozos replaced all of the parts that are affected by the bad circuit or switch.

There have been a few threads here about the code. Type "p1682" into the search box, top center of each page.

Somebody said they somehow got the cam solenoids in the wrong holes and that caused it.
