To me, it just isn't worth it just to be able to say you have a supercharger. If you have the skills, time, and workspace to do the work yourself, great but that doesn't apply to me. I like being able to just fil two switched and have an extra 60+ hp whenever I need it amd then being able to just switch it off again. And my set up doesn't require all kinds of cutting, and relocating of stuff under the hood. Before I went through all that trouble to make a turbo or supercharged 2.4, I'll just wait to buy a totaled 2.0 turbo and install it.

What I'm looking for now is other ways to continue to increase my HP.
Of course, I don't doubt that the price/performance ratio is much better with nitrous that ANY forced induction conversion. Anyone who races can confirm that. I'm just more or less agreeing with you that the 2.4 has potential, but not as cheaply as say, a small-block Chevy, despite the claims from GM that this is the "small-block for the 21st century crowd".

I think if you really want to push the engine with forced induction plus nitrous, you're looking at a full teardown and rebuild anyway. High boost over 25 psi for everyday is going to mandate an 0-ringed head and a forged bottom end. If you don't port and polished the heads, you're wasting more power there too. Plus all the time tuning the computer, you're looking at a significant investment.

Nitrous definitely has the smiles per gallon award.
