Hahn Turbo Kit for 2.4L HHR

A few months ago, Hahn Racecraft had a turbo kit for the 2.4L HHR listed as "under development" on their website. Yesterday I looked on their web site again and the only stuff listed for the HHR was for the HHR SS. I E-mailed them and asked if they were still developing a turbo kit for the 2.4L. Their response was that they will be looking at it again later this year. They need a vehicle to develop the turbo kit on. They are located in Illinois and I am in New York so I'm too far away. If there is anyone in the Illinois area that can let them use their HHR for development, then the rest of us just might have a turbo kit for the 2.4L soon!

They have one for the 2.4L Cobalt/G5, I wonder how much different it would be for the HHR.

Hi there!

Thanks for the mention, Steve. Yes, it appears that in the effort to accomodate SS, we managed to erase the website info on standard HHR. I'll make it a point to get that rectified.

We will be looking for a Chicago-region 2.4 HHR to work with this winter. Ideally, we'll find both manual and automatic trans recipients, one or more of each. Our success with the 2.4 in Cobalt and Solstice/Sky has been superb, and we are confident the technology and experience gained will cross over to HHR nicely.

Some very happy HHR owner will get a smoking deal and a very unique and powerful vehicle, designed and tuned by the industry leaders!

I'm interested, need some more info regarding test fitting. I've seen videos of turbocharged 2.2 and 2.4 cobalts, so I'm pretty excited about the potential. I have a 5 speed by the way.

I am interested also in a turbo kit, I cannot afford the higher insurance and car payment associated with the SS.
But, I have one consern with boosting the 2.4L, and that is the high compression ratio, would there be a different head gasket used to bring it down some? I am worried about longevity, being high compression mixed with boost.

I just got off the phone with the current owner of our Soul Food Solstice. This amazing 2.4 car has been thrashed severely since its birth three years ago, and has put down 380 WHP and run 12.00 in the 1/4 mile @ 117 MPH...all on a stock 2.4! We did put some upper end goodies into it to enable the high boost leve it's capable of, but the bottom end remains 100% stock.

Suffice to say...the engine is strong and capable, and our extensive background with it in other applications means we have your back. Why, we even have auto trans 2.4 Cobalts running mid 13 second 1/4 miles...just with our bolt-on kit!
