That's what I was thinking. The factory airbox I think masks the sound some so now that the smaller K&N box is sitting on top the sound is much more apparent.

So I'll give my 2 cents on the K&N intake now that I've got drive it on open road and not just back roads...

The throttle response seems like it's not as strong as it was before I put the intake on. This could be my imagination because I'm looking for the flaws. The new growl is definitely welcomed but it sucks a little because it doesn't have that open air sound that other after market intakes have. Overall for what I have in it with a new filter on the way I can't really complain. The filter I got was pretty dirty and instead of ordering a filter cleaning kit I just went ahead and orderd a new filter instead. That may make all the difference in the world...we'll see.

I was in the same boat...wanted a little sound without producing a lot of in cabin noise. The resonator delete was great and only got better when I put the intake on last night.

I called one shop here in town. They want 75 to do it. Ill call some more places tomarrow. Do you think i will get a similar exhaust note? I have the 2.2.
What about a muffler delete. Would there be a major difference in doing that vs. the resonator delete.

Don't think I'd do a muffler delete...that would definitely sound loud and ricey. I was visiting my folks this evenin and the wife left with my daughter so I had my sisters bf take it for a quick spin so I could hear everything. It sounds amazing with the intake...her bf and thought so. I was thinking of shopping for a new muffler but after tonight I definitely will be keeping it as is.
