My 2.4 just began having a click
My 2008 HHR 2.4 has just started having weird engine click when I turn key partially on. Then when I turn key off I get a click again.. 39699 miles on it..
Runs super, but this click sounds at top of engine, kinda in middle. Weird deal
Add on: only 1 click is heard when I turn key partially on.. And only 1 click when I turn it off..
Full of oil, etc..

Remain alert, but don’t worry too much. Solenoids are electromechanical devices, and the mechical parts can vary and wear enough to cause changes in sound. Also, I can say from personal experience that one can become alarmed when one first notices a sound that has (probably) always been there.
Worry has an amplifying effect. Need a name for that.
Now I need to get in my 2011 and listen for noises. Will repot back. Maybe.
