One of my points was that a solenoid or relay can become louder, which may or may not be a sign of impending failure. Modern relays are mostly solid-state, I think, so I’d be looking at solenoids.

To find the source, with the aid of an assistant, you could try the old piece-of-hose-as-a-stethoscope trick.

i have a stethoscope, just need assistant.. Maybe an eager body at parts store.. Thank You all..

I tried to get mine to the same circumstance, no click , the fuel pump primes immediately.

Yes, but they usually cause the CEL to turn on and a code.

Not if they’re functioning properly.

But the VVT solenoids don’t click normally until oil pressure rises
