New filters - New Check engine Light

Long time no post, Been too busy driving the HHR.

What are your thoughts on the check engine light coming on after an oil/air filter change?

I read the manual and it seems to indicate that it may go away after a few drives as a result of the new Air filter.

Anyone have similar experiences?

I would think changing the oil/filter and the Check engine light would not be related. Did you reset the Oil life meter to 100%? Check around the filter and see if there's anything you might have unintentionally disconnected. And check if your Maf sensor connector is firmly connected since you had to remove this to change the filter.

What brand and type of air filter? Like K&N, Wix, oil, dry...Oiled filters such as K&N can cause problems with the maf sensor and can cause CEL to come on.

You may have to find someone with an OBD II scanner to read what the problem is

Drove the Bomber around a little bit last night, pulled it into the garage and put it to bed for the night.

Got up this morning still puzzled about it, more sick about the money I might have to spend to get it fixed.

Started the Car up, No light.
