a new unusual noise...???

upon "pedal to the metal" I am hearing a "rattle" or "vibration" or even a "sucking" noise (<<<if its a vaccum line) it occurs only a full acceration...it does it at all RPM levels...doesn't matter what gear its in...by the way its an automatic and a 2.4 L...LS
the car does not stall, stammer or hesitate in any way has no loss of power and performs as always....not really to concerned about it other than I have never heard it before??? any ideas?....89,000 miles, oil changes on time and I run 93 octane all the time....

It's a flexible section of pipe between the exhaust manifold and the down pipe, it allows the engine to shift in its mounts without snapping the down pipe off.

Give this thread from badassbowtie a read....

The problem I found with the flex pipe on my '08 2.4, was that the primary "cone" at the inlet of the flex pipe. This inner cone is thin and was cracked on the entire circumference. This allowed the cone to move about and not transfer exhaust gases directly to the exit side. I replaced the flex pipe with a different design that doesn't have this cone. I kept the old one to examine.

Now you mention a slight vibration in the steering wheel? Check the wheel hub/bearings.

front end alignment from the dealer, tires rotated and balanced, new rotors (NAPA) best they have....still has a vibration....the only thing currently "known" is the seals are leaking on the struts>> so I'm changing those TUE after I fix the flex pipe...also the hub bearings on the passenger side was relpaced last week.....so maybe still could be the ones on the drivers side but its making any noise yet??
