Replacing Modules (no dealer)

I finally figured out how to get the VCX NANO to work with Techline Connect. I reflashed my ECM, i/p cluster(for backlihht dimming and the VTD. I haven't tried using it under " replace and reprogram" yet. I was wondering of anyone else on here has and whether or not it was a success? The reflashing was easy and painless.

After reading your other thread (that you never came back to update) why are you here talking tech stuff that 99 % of the readers don't understand ? Me included.

Programming modules is a common practice among those who do this kind of work professionally but not so much for the novice.

Unfortunately, not even Mr.Goodwrench knows how unless they happened to stay awake in the class. I know because it too 3 hours for the shop expert to program a new SDM; he had to call GM tech support after he tore my car apart looking for the already installed SDM.
I don't know why anybody would want to reprogram a working module and very few modules break regardless of facebook, because "replace (name of module here)" happens to be the last option in the diagnostic instructions. Most of the time it is the unplugging and replugging that actually fixes the issue or, fixing the actual problem not what the reader "said".
Replacing the firmware involves having a subscription to tis2web (I think they may have changed the name to Techline Connect) and downloading the new firmware. I think the software is available so you can do it with a laptop and a CAN/OBD2 adapter.
