Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid - Anyone?

I looked but I can not find anyone here talking about changing the Automatic Transmission Fluid to Synthetic. I put AMSOIL Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid in my Avalanche two months after I got it.

Has anyone changed the Transmission Fluid to Synthetic ???? or is anyone thinking about it??

I will when they come out with it. Well when its time to change it
This tranny uses a different tranny oil. Dot 6 or something like that

i thought that the tranny was sealed and there was no reason to change the oil. if it is sealed, automatic, then i can only image how much the dealer would charge to cahnge it.

What is done is that the tranny is Flushed and the filter changed. A good Transmission shop will do it. It done all the time with larger engines.

I'm putting B&M Trick Shift in mine soon.

No plans for synthetic here.

when it is time to change out you fluid, i would look for a shop that uses BG products. We carry all sorts of BG flushes, and they do a wonderful job. In my opinion there is no need to change out the filter until 100k, that is if you get it serviced at regular intervals (every 50k). The flush for the trans should run about 130-140 at most service departments. If you want synth fluid, they can flush it with synth.
