TTR solid engine mount install

Question to all who have installed the TTR solid upper mount:

Do you have to support the engine during removal of the old mount or can you just unbolt the old and bolt in the new? Doesn't look like you have to support it but haven't seen any how-to's on it yet.

I would say yes since the front of the engine would/should drop down a lttle when you remove the bolts.
When I installed mine, first thing I did was slide my small jack under there with a small piece of wood between the jack and oil pan.You should be able to turn the steering all the way to the right to get a jack under there. I jacked it up a little to take the pressure off of the mount and bolts.
Removed the washer reservior. Then I swapped out the mount. Easy job. Took about 15 minutes.
note: you should torque the mounting bolts to factory specs. ( can't recall the settings. Since I'm at work, sorry, can't look them up.)

Thanks. Did you notice a difference in torque transfer to the wheels? I also heard it creates a bit more of a vibration feel because its so solid. True?
Ordering mine in a week or two along with the ZZP header.

Yes. One thing it seemed to eliminate was the wheel hop I was getting when slightly breaking traction.
The vibration? Oh yeah. You'll notice it. Drove me crazy for a few months. I guess I'm just used to it now. Doesn't really bother me any more.

Bolts: Engine Mount to Intermediate Bracket 65 N.m 48 lb ft
Nuts: Engine Mount to Midrail Nuts 100 N.m 74 lb ft

(Not quite sure about these nut torque specs. Seems awful high to me. But, the specs did come from the repair manual.)

You'll find that TTR's instructions are very well written and thought out, more than a few manufacturers/vendors could learn from them.
