I guess I still don't understand part of the question. My Avg MPG is usually around 26-27 MPG, but the Average speed is totally a function of where you've been, city or highway. If I just drove to Cleveland on I-90, my AVG speed is going to be 75 MPH. If I'm driving around town, my AVG speed is going to be whatever my average speed has been, maybe 30 MPH.

Are you trying to determine some sort of formula which shows an increase/decrease in MPG based upon what speed everyone was going?

I agree, it is sort of like asking, "Tell me the answer, yes or no only, what color is your car." The answers you get depend so heavily upon the context. Just getting an answer with no context makes the answers fairly useless. God Bless, Marc

Never changed the Av Speed. Don't care. Change MPG every fill up. 31-34 mpg since the beginning of October when I changed where I drive. 43 miles each way to work with 2 miles streets the rest highway at 70-75 mph on cruise control

Only gone through two tanks so far, but I'm getting about 26 mpgs and about 40mph. The guy I bought it from said he never saw less than 27mpg/avg, but he was almost all highway driving. Hope that helps.

2.4L, 5spd btw.

Average speed = 25 mph rock solid, every week
Avg MPG = 20.4 this week

MPG's increase as speed increases, on most long trips
