3M Promoter Wet Naps

welllll after talking to 3M in a few phone calls i found the 3M tape promoter that helps make it stick to everything, even bumpy trim. First you wipe w alcohol, then wipe the promoter on where u are going to tape and it really makes the 3M tape stick. you have to really get it right w light pressure and once you press on it,,, it is on. came w our dash kit for the Nox from Benevento in a tube that had a breakable plastic tube inside. when it broke it put the fluid on a felt tip. this stuff is really great and will make any 3M tape use job last alot longer

it is called 3m tape promoter wet naps
product code is 06396
auto stores can get it. they should just stock it

i called NAPA and they stock it around $1.69 for 1 wet nap. the tech guy said it would have enough and stay wet long enough to do a dash kit so that is something
then he said, now if you had a vacuum pump you could seal it in a bag and use it later.. i just laughed out loud and said,,, yep, i will go out and get one right now,,, he laughed.

cant hurt to put it in a baggie, push out as much air as possible and then keep it and try it for later

he gave me a break ordering 10 and i am going to see if i can find it at a jobber that will sell it wholesale to me.

Thank CJ...I will add it to the growing list of things I need to get for the HHR. I pulled off the chrome door trim (well...it actually started falling off...) maybe now I can put it back on there and a few other places I'm thinking about adding it on the HHR.

Hopefully it's a lot easier and cleaner to use than the alternatives.

It does work real well.

Other parts I've gotten have come with them, kept the spares , and they really help. VERY STICKY.

Wish I had it when I first did my taillights. think I'll be redoing them with this!

Have you used this yet? If so how does it seem to work out so far?

did good
on the 1/8 chrome it still is ok but not great on tight curves
shoe goo works better and great for resticking 3M back on where it has popped off

I used it to attach my bumper trim the other day- it worked great. Dried fast and set up a very good surface.

I will add that it is remarkabley sticky on your hands, and is fairly difficult to wash off. After the first piece I got out the latex gloves!
