I recently purchased a 2011 HHR 1LT from a repo auction and it was missing the rear bumper cover. I called multiple upon multiple salvage yards to try and find a direct replacement with matching color (501Q Black Granite) but I have not had any luck 2 states wide.

What I want to do is buy a black bumper and paint the metallic clear coat over it but I dont know if the metallic is in the clear, does anyone know?

My body shop gels me the black granite has the metallic and the clear is clear.
I'd like to find a clear coat with more metallic in it to do some ghost flames in silver and gold metallic

damn! I was really hoping to get away with throwing on a metallic clear. I may as well purchase a new bumper off of amazon then! Thank you for the help!

I'm a body shop manager. Black granite has a metallic base w/ a normal clearcoat.

Inside the glove box on the sticker it says "Waterbased U 501Q". Is this the same as WA501Q?
