Did anyone actually pay for the ashtray that was an option on the HHR?

I did but only because I bought my HHR off the lot and it was ordered with the option. If I ordered my HHR I wouldn't have added the ashtray.

I was never charged and it wasn't on the window sticker, but I have one. Free gift I guess. Sort of makes me want to take up smoking again ;)

Wasn't in mine when I bought off the lot either. I am a smoker, but do not smoke in my HHR...and I've had it almost 6 months.

i bought mine off the lot as well and paid for it. i don't smoke, but it makes a great change holder! just curious, if you didn't get it, what's in the lighters place on the front panel?

Mine came with a lighter, but no ashtray. The lighter was in the bag in the back that had the cargo net, velcro straps and the license plate holders.

They are 2 seperate options. If you dont get a lighter, it is a ruber flap that goes in it.

The reason I asked is I got mine free and its just rolling around under the drivers seat. Remember when ash trays were actually a part of the car not just something that went in the cup holders?

I quit smoking in October 2004 (heart attacks do that to you). My "ashtray" was redesigned by my son into something for his truck. I have a lighter that has never even been pushed in. I don't even know if it works!

I special ordered my HHR and didn't ask for the smokers package or lighter. But it did come with a lighter and no ashtray. I like the look of having a lighter as a plug better than a rubber plug anyway, it just looks natural. But it may not work, haven't tested it out.
